What does offline actually mean?
Offline usually indicates a loss of communication with the backend platform rather than a hardware failure. Some chargers continue charging whilst offline, others cannot.
Identify patterns
Determine whether one charger or multiple chargers are affected, whether faults occur at specific times and whether they coincide with power interruptions or firmware updates.
Common causes
Communications failures, electrical supply issues, backend software problems, firmware issues and genuine hardware faults should all be considered.
Avoid repeatedly resetting chargers
Remote resets are useful but should not become the long-term solution. Persistent faults require investigation.
Use remote monitoring
Remote monitoring provides valuable information about charger availability, communications, error codes and recurring faults before users report problems.
