Plan for increasing EV adoption, tenant expectations and future fleet electrification.
2. Invest beneath the surface
Installing spare ducting, containment and expansion routes during the initial project is usually far cheaper than excavating later.
3. Build flexibility into the electrical design
Allow for future expansion through suitable distribution arrangements, spare capacity and load management strategies.
4. Avoid technology lock-in
Use OCPP-compatible equipment to retain flexibility when choosing compatible software platforms.
5. Plan for operation
Design the installation so it can be inspected, maintained and upgraded efficiently throughout its lifecycle.
6. Think in whole-life terms
Treat EV charging like any other building asset, with planned inspections, maintenance, monitoring and lifecycle replacement.
